I am a miniaturist and streamer located in Richmond, VA working primarily in paper and inspired by pop culture.

As a child of the 90s, my work is typically sparked by the digital landscapes of video games.

My name is Sky Burkson and I am a miniaturist and artist located in Richmond, VA working primarily in paper and inspired by pop culture.

My work is typically sparked by the digital landscapes of video games, where I can explore even the simplest, low-pixel environments and find new avenues in atmospheric story-telling.

I primarily use matboard, bristol paper, cardstock, copy paper and toilet paper blending intense papercraft and papier maché with traditional model-making techniques (brasswork, woodwork, plastic craft, etc.)

What Materials Are You Using?
I use all sorts of materials in order to obtain the most accurate representation of an object or detail in scale.
BUT: I primarily use paper:

  • Excel #11 Blades

  • Crescent Illustration Board

  • Golden State Art Board

  • Strathmore Bristol Paper

  • Simple White Cardstock, Copy Paper and Toilet Paper

  • AlumiCutter Safety Edged Rulers (12”, 18”, 30”, & 36”)

  • Sobo White Glue

  • Bob Smith Industries CA Glue and 5 Minute Epoxy

  • Golden Crackle Paste

  • Any and all acrylic paints that get the job done

  • K & S Brass Stock
